When the surgery is closed telephone 111 for the out of hours service. They will be able to give you advice or get a doctor to phone you back. The doctor will decide if you need a home visit or if you can come and see a doctor or emergency care practitioner at the out-of-hours centre at Shotley Bridge.
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
