First Contact Practitioner (FCP) Podiatry

We can now offer appointments with a podiatrist for the following.

Problematic Nail and Skin

Foot ulcers/non healing wounds (including diabetic patients)

Corns and Callus

Verrucae

Rashes affecting the foot area.

Any toenail problems e.g. Fungal infection

In growing or painful nails

 

Infections

Bacterial and Fungal skin infections

Swelling to foot and ankle

Change in colour or temperature to the foot.

Decline to foot and ankle health limiting activities of daily living.

 

Muscular Pain

Any foot and ankle pain

Mechanical changes affecting activity / mobility.

 

To book an appointment please contact the surgery on 01207 232384 and ask for a First Contact Podiatry appointment.

 

You will not be able to be referred to this service if any of the following apply. This will be checked at the time of booking the appointment.

Exclusion Criteria

Acutely or systemically unwell e.g. Sepsis

Children under 16

Medication queries/medical management of conditions

Medication reviews

Housebound patients / home visits

Patients who already have an active recall with podiatry (County Durham and Darlington Foundation Trust)

Routine nail care non pathological nails

Patients who do not want to see a FCP
